Why choose your coaching services?

The short answer is because I’ve been there. The longer version is that when I first contemplated a run for public office, I gave it little thought. I believed in myself and what I could offer my community, so I filed to be a candidate with little idea of what to expect. I soon learned that even if you think you know, you don’t. Campaigning for public office demands substantial time and energy. Until you do it, you have no idea how much.

Since that first filing, I have run for, and won, local office, chaired successful bond campaigns, and managed a regional office for a presidential campaign, not to mention advised local district candidates in their successful campaigns. This wealth of campaign savvy puts those I coach ahead of the game from the start because I know what works.

You profit from that know-how when you choose me, Mike Noblet, Local Candidate Coach. With my help, your path becomes smoother, your actions wiser and more effective. So let me help you take your campaign from ordinary to extraordinary!

Who benefits from your coaching services?

All first-time candidates for local-district office benefit, candidates with focus and drive to improve their towns, counties, states, schools, special-purpose districts, or local judicial offices.

Those who benefit most come to me with solid civic resumes from first having served on local boards or commissions. They have learned to be at ease with meeting strangers, speaking before groups, asking others to volunteer time and/or money, and delegating tasks.

The operative phrase is, “They have learned to be at ease with . . .” So can you. When you select me, Mike Noblet, Local Candidate Coach to guide you along the campaign trail, you benefit from considerable political insight and experience, not the least of which are side stepping potential mine fields, using time to best advantage, and avoiding ill-advised financial expenditures. To become the best, most efficient, candidate you can be, choose Local Candidate Coach.

What topics do you cover?

The complex world of political campaigning requires crisp, clear messages marketed through an eye-catching logo and yard sign, as well as through compelling print and digital media. Also required is strong, no nonsense campaign managing so that every action supports the common purpose: Winning on Election Day. Add in managing an Internet presence, debating opponents, soliciting contributions, and keeping volunteers inspired, and it can get overwhelming. But with my guidance, you command the multifaceted nature of campaigning.

Do personal politics influence your coaching?

Whether progressive, liberal, moderate, or non-partisan, I never favor certain clients over others. However, I do not work with Republican candidates. I work with one candidate per district, per election cycle only, and all discussions stay confidential. However I do avoid candidates whose singular purpose is to denigrate their opponents.

Can I get by with just your book?

My book, Down Ballot Winner – The Definitive Guide to Local Campaigning, coming soon, is a comprehensive, how-to manual tailored to those running, or thinking of running, for local district office. So it works well by itself.

A few of the topics covered in the book are:

  • What actions to take and avoid.

  • What to do now for payoff later.

  • How to increase candidate effectiveness.

  • How to get noticed through logo, sign, and print and digital media.

  • How to sway voters and mobilize them to vote for you on Election Day.

Consider Down-Ballot Winner your campaign’s trail map from starting gate to finish line, a field guide to your best chances on Election Day. For a custom fit, tailor it to your district’s specific situation with my coaching services. Local Candidate Coach, Mike Noblet, offers you a leg up on the competition.

Do you coach for bond campaigns, referenda, or recalls?

Yes. In such cases, I coach campaign managers, not candidates. Though no candidate is involved, the campaign process is much the same. The campaign must create a favorable image, brand it with an eye-catching logo and sign, get its message out to those most likely to vote, mobilize potential voters to vote yes or no, and assure all votes are counted.

How does your complementary, one hour phone consultation work?

First, it allows us to get acquainted and decide if you need my coaching services. You tell me why you’re running, what issues face your district, who your opponent(s) might be, and anything else that helps frame the conversation. Together we outline your campaign vision. The result: A fresh perspective. You come away knowing what to expect between that day and Election Day.
